The Trail Leading to Nanhu Mountains in Winter

The Trail Leading to Nanhu Mountains in Winter

Alex Houghton
Managing Partner & Co-founder

Alex an outdoor aussie bloke at heart but grew up in Hong Kong, Malaysia & Taiwan. After university returned to Taiwan to work as a graphic designer and photographer for a local magazines and as a Senior Designer for Moshi. Eventually he decided that the office wasn’t as suitable a habitat as the labyrinth of mountain valleys that divides Taiwan. Camera in hand, his adventures exploring the island via scooter have led him up 3000+ meter peaks, crystal clear rivers and to the base of countless waterfalls. In Taiwan, adventure always awaits and any excuse to explore is worth it. His most recent effort was a spontaneous 4,000km camping trip to capture the natural beauty of Taiwan. That one lasted 6 weeks.

Howard Chai
Outdoor Enthusiast & Co-Founder

After years working and building companies in the technology industry, Howard craved adventure and wanted to learn more about his home country. Exploring mountains, river tracing, and surfing the beaches of Taiwan became Howard’s new office. Changing his lifestyle to focus more on living a balanced life of exploring and family inspired Howard to push himself harder and further than he thought he could go. When on the road you can truly see his love for Taiwan and appreciating the beauty of the journey.

Julian Furtak
Head of Business Development

Julian fell in love with Taiwan 8 years ago while in Pingdong for a cultural exchange program. After completing his undergraduate degree in Film Studies, he returned to Taiwan to refine his Mandarin ability at National Taiwan Normal University. His passion for nature, cultural fluidity, and desire to be treated as a local have allowed him to build relationships with which we hope to present your Taiwan experience. For the past three years, he has explored Taiwan’s inspiring east coast. Every river or hunting path that caught his attention became the foundations of his second home. Usually found steeping tea behind his tent in a secluded valley, we have no qualms with stating his knowledge off the beaten track is better than most Taiwanese, local or not.
